Alden & Madeleine
I received
Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol (
angry chicken) for Christmas last year and I love the awesome kid stuff. As we have no kidlets yet, my niece and nephews are the recipient of these frequent crafty urges. My niece is 5 and LOVES pink, her brother is 2 and loves everything. Since this is a joint gift, I went for a gender-neutral palette. I keep finding myself drawn to Alexander Henry fabrics without realizing it (bought a few more prints last night in fact). It has a tension rod in the top to adjust to most doorways and it rolls up for storage in a matching case. I added a marquee to the case (not part of the original instructions) using printable fabric. And yes, that is ball fringe (Amy’s suggestion and I have to say I love it!).
This was my entry for Craftster’s Craft Challenge #33 – Handmade Holiday Gifts for Kids – Dec 2008
