Black & Cream Victorian Print Birthday Bag

While roaming the OB Street Fair earlier this summer, my friend and I spot these awesome “beach bags” for way too much money. She was really drawn to this black & cream Victorian (?) print bag. I was kinda surprised at her choice because most of her stuff is Irish (she is) or Hawaiian (lived there for 10 years). She opted to spend her money elsewhere and I filed the purse details away for a later date. I made it similar to my sisters’ birthday beach bags, but skipped the (really frustrating) vinyl. For the zipper pocket, I used SewPixie’s awesome zipper pocket tutorial on Craftster. The inside of the pocket is the print, because it’s so thick it shows along the zipper, but I really like it. I’m still struggling with the details of the wider-at-the-top bag, but I think it’s getting better. I’m also getting more comfortable with the super stiff Pellon interfacing.

Feel the Craftster Love!
