Glittery Guitar Hero

After the success of Meagan’s stenciled Christmas present, I just had to do another one, but this time I simply had to use glitter! Paula is a Guitar Hero Goddess so I went with that theme using Tulip’s Fashion Glitter Bond. I found the required images online and traced them in Illustrator (I love vector drawings!). I opted for Hero instead of Guitar Hero cause I thought it was more cool that way (and less trademark-infringing).

A few tips for those who haven’t used this glitter glue stuff before. Don’t use cardboard in the shirt to prevent bleed-through because, well, it’s glue and then the cardboard is stuck to the inside of the shirt. I did and had to peel off a bit of cardboard. In attempts to remove the remaining cardboard, I washed it (per glitter glue instructions) inside-out, gentle, no dryer…and most of the glitter came off. Lame. So after a few days of glaring at it drying in the bathroom I decided to have another go. No stencil this time since the gluey letters were still visible, I used a small paintbrush to apply the glue then glittered with reckless abandon. I didn’t wash a second time, but delivered the shirt on Christmas day with the instructions to hand wash only.
