Home Addition – End of Week Nine

Mother Nature was not on our side last week. An early fall storm started lightly on Tuesday and ran late through Wednesday night. Normally, I love this kind of weather, but with the wooden state of our addition, not so much. Monday was beautiful and Marty and Scott got more framing done on the upstairs.

They got some work done on Tuesday morning before putting up tarps. We spent Wednesday combating the wind that was trying to pull those tarps off and fling them down the street. Clarke was very resourceful and weighted down one side of tarp with towel-wrapped wrenches to keep it from flipping up and dumping the accumulated water into our future bedroom.

The winds finally died down as the rain really picked up midday on Wednesday. Clarke spent a few hours Wednesday evening sweeping water off our deck and the tarps. By Thursday the weather had moved on and Marty came over and, along with Clarke, removed the tarps to allow everything to dry in time for work on Friday morning. With only two days of work for last week, we’re a bit more behind schedule but at this point, what can you do?
